Fixed prostheses
This service involves replacing severely deteriorated crowns with new crowns made in the laboratory by the dental technician. The new crowns are then sealed with cement or stuck firmly in place with adhesive. Crowns these days are made from a ceramic surface fused to a precious metal base. All-ceramic crowns have also been available for some years for that perfect aesthetic appearance.
Removable prosthesis
This service involves replacing missing teeth with an appliance that is anchored in place in the mouth by means of small clips attached to the remaining teeth. The appliance is not fixed in the mouth permanently and must be removed for cleaning after every meal and at night. A removable prosthesis is less comfortable than the fixed alternative, but is sometimes the only solution possible due to the number of missing teeth. It is also less expensive and more adaptable than a fixed solution.
